The BBC has released the trailer for upcoming six-part thriller ‘Boat Story’.
The series stars Daisy Haggard (‘Back to Life’, ‘Breeders’) and Paterson Joseph (‘Vigil’, Noughts & Crosses), alongside Tchéky Karyo (‘Baptiste’, ‘The Missing’), Joanna Scanlan (‘After Love’, ‘Notes on A Scandal’), Craig Fairbrass (‘One Piece’) and Phil Daniels (‘Quadrophenia, House of the Dragon’). Written by Harry and Jack Williams, the new series is produced by award-winning All3Media production company, Two Brothers Pictures in association with all All3Media International.
The trailer features our unsuspecting leads Janet (Daisy Haggard) and Samuel (Paterson Joseph) who encounter a haul of illegal drugs found on a shipwrecked boat. The pair can’t believe their luck as they agree to sell it and split the cash. But quickly Janet and Samuel find themselves entangled with police, hitmen, and a sharp suited gangster known as ‘The Tailor’ (Tcheky Karyo).
At its core, ‘Boat Story’ is a thriller with a darkly comic heart about two ordinary people whom the world has turned its back on, and whether they’re willing – or desperate enough – to do something crazy to get what they want in life. Pushed to the very edge, can they trust each other and get away with their lives and the money?
‘Boat Story’ embodies twists and turns with character-driven, surprising storytelling. Off-beat humour contrasts with high-octane action sequences against the spectacular backdrop of the beautiful, windswept Yorkshire coastline.
The series will be coming soon on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK and will later be available on Amazon Freevee in the US and Germany.
