Multi-platinum sensation Chris Young has released his latest weekend single titled ‘Young Love & Saturday Nights’ which is now available to stream everywhere. Co-written by Young with Corey Crowder and Chris DeStefano, this catchy song embraces David Bowie’s iconic ‘Rebel Rebel’ guitar riff and brings the legendary rocker as co-writer alongside Ashley Gourley, Jesse Frasure and Josh Thompson.
Accompanying the release was the music video for ‘Young Love & Saturday Nights’ directed by Running Bear’s Alexia Stone and Stephen Kinigopoulos, shot in Hendersonville, Tenn., just north of Nashville. It was filmed at Old Hickory Beach. Against the beautiful backdrop of the beach, Chris delivers the song, about the flirtation of young love and the freedom of Saturday nights.
The song’s touching lyrics celebrate the magic of young love and the joy of carefree Saturday nights. ‘Young Love and Saturday Nights’ marks David Bowie’s country music debut and marks the first co-production for Young, Crowder and DeStefano.
When asked about the inspiration behind the track, Young shares, “When I first heard this song, I immediately connected with the groove and the lyrics with a lot of things that I could personally relate to. It makes me think of when I first started playing country dive bars, driving a beat-up car to gigs, hoping the audience would relate… and if I’m honest, hoping the women would too. Young love and Saturday nights go hand in hand, and this just feels like one of those big summer songs that you just want to roll down the windows, turn up the volume and rock out to.
‘Young Love & Saturday Nights’ follows Young’s current hit single ‘Looking For You’, co-written by Young with Chris DeStefano, James McNair and Emily Weisband, which is currently making waves topping the Billboard Country and Mediabase radio charts.
