‘The Holdovers’: Paul Giamatti reteams with ‘Sideways’ director for new film

The trailer for the new film ‘The Holdovers’ from Alexander Payne (‘The Side’) has been launched.

The film sees Paul Giamatti team up with Payne following his successful collaboration with Payne in 2004’s ‘Sideways’. ‘The Holdovers’ also stars newcomer Dominic Sessa and Da’Vine Joy Randolph (‘The Lost City’).

‘The Holdovers’ follows a famous American school teacher (Paul Giamatti) who is forced to stay on campus during Christmas break to take care of a few students who have nowhere to go. Eventually, he forms an unlikely bond with one of them – a damaged, mentally challenged man (newcomer Dominic Sessa) – and the school’s head cook, who lost a son in Vietnam (Davin Joey Randolph).

The film is written by David Hemmingson. The producers are Mark Johnson, Bill Block and David Hemmingson, and the executive producers are Chris Stinson, Tom Williams, Andrew Golov and Tom Zadra.

‘The Holdovers’ will be released in cinemas soon.
