Chris Shiflett’s new album ‘Lost At Sea’ will be released on October 20, 2023 via Snake Farm, it has been announced.
The album announcement comes alongside summer anthem ‘Damage Control’, featuring a video featuring fan-filmed footage from Shifflett’s sold-out UK headline tour earlier this year. Watch the video below:
Shiflett recorded most of the new album in Nashville with producer and collaborator Jaren Johnston, front man of The Cadillac Three.
“We wrote a lot of these songs during the outbreak,” says Shifflett, who spent much of the pandemic at home in Southern California. “Then I started traveling to Nashville to work with Jaren. He and I have a lot of overlap in terms of the music we like. We made a guitar-driven record that included everything I’ve been listening to over the years, from the most country songs I’ve recorded to punk rock and songs that sound like the Californian version of The Clash.
The new album features an American all-star cast. Among them were fellow guitarists Charlie Worsham, Tom Bukovac and Nathan Kitterley. Shiflett has teamed up with several co-writers including Kendall Marvel, Cody Jinks and more to fill ‘Lost at Sea’ with a storyline that packs as big a punch as the musical itself.
In addition to advertising Lost at sea, Shred With Shifty, a new podcast from Volume.com, Double Elvis and Premier Guitar focusing on guitar solos was announced last month. Shifflett talks and plays with some of the biggest names in the guitar world, exploring their most famous solos and the art of guitar playing in an exclusive video on Volume.com.
