King Calaway unveils final pre-album release ‘The Other Half’

Stoney Creek Records’ King Callaway is closing in on the release of his highly anticipated 203 album, The Tennessee Waits, which will be released on August 4th. The band is treating fans to the final taste of what’s to come from the 16-track project. With the release of their new single ‘The Other Half’.

Written by King Callaway guitarist and co-lead vocalist Chad Jervis, along with Phil Barton and Seth Mosley, ‘The Other Half’ finds its place on the band’s first full-length album in four years. The song tells the story of a heart that is only partially saved, still holding the remnants of a past love.

Jervis shares, “I think we all have someone in our lives that we think we’ve moved on to, but deep down, a part of us is still holding onto it. ‘The Other Half’ captures that feeling. Recording this song was a natural process because we knew how we wanted it to sound right from the start. We combine our influences to create something unique, from bands like the Eagles to massive guitar solos and a wall of harmonies and acoustic guitars. I hope you can hear the fun we had making this record.”

Drummer Chris Deaton added, “We’re incredibly proud of how ‘The Other Half’ turned out and are thrilled that everyone can finally enjoy it. To be able to play live when we open for Zac Brown Band is truly a dream come true.”

King Callaway’s sophomore album, “Tennessee Waiting,” features collaborations with Grammy nominee Marcus King, ACM winner Hayley Withers and Zac Brown on the previously released ‘When I Come Home.’

Reflecting on the album’s creation, lead guitarist Caleb Miller expressed his gratitude, “’Tennessee’s Waiting’ is our first full-length project in four years, and we’re incredibly lucky as a band to have created each other. Like some of our closest friends and mentors. Taking the music from the studio and performing it live on tour with Zac Brown Band is an incredible experience, and we look forward to sharing it with more fans.

Currently holding the opening slot on Zac Brown Band’s 2023 ‘From the Fire Tour’, King Callaway’s talent has not gone unnoticed by the legendary group. Zac Brown has previously expressed his confidence in King Callaway’s abilities, saying, “I recognized the talent of this young group, and when we started working in the studio, a lot was revealed. I believe in these people. When [producer] Keith Stegall bet me and he helped me make my first album, which was the beginning of my career. It’s great to be able to give that same opportunity back,” he said.
