‘Safe House’ is out on Blu-ray and DVD this week via Fabulous Films Ltd/Fremantle Media Enterprises.
This 2012 action thriller stars Oscar winner Denzel Washington, AFC Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds and supporting roles from Oscar nominees: Vera Farmiga, Brendan Gleeson and Sam Shepard. Cinematography by Oliver Wood (‘The Bourne Franchise’).
When a South African safe house is attacked, fugitive ex-CIA agent Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) and rookie CIA officer Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds)—unlikely allies—must stay alive to find out who wants them dead.
- Director Daniel Espinosa’s parents settled in Stockholm in 1976 after escaping the Pinochet regime in Chile. As a troubled teenager, Espinosa committed many petty crimes. Instead of prison, the Swedish government sent Espinosa to an elite boarding school where he lived with the son of Swedish film director Lasse Hallström (‘My Life as a Dog’, ‘Chocolat’, ‘The Cider House Rules’). Espinosa thought that Lacey and his son “seem like normal people” and thought, “If you can do it, I can do it.” He turned his dream of owning a coffee shop into directing his own films.
Before ‘Safe House’, Espinosa’s biggest film was the $4 million Nordic drug drama. ‘Safe House’ took in $208 million worldwide against an $85 million budget.
To celebrate the re-release, we have 2 copies of the film on Blu-ray to give away. Enter below for a chance to win…
