It’s not always about the winner; LASA is commendable.
Re: “Connelly beats LASA to advance to regionals” April 2.
Thanks for the game report. Although Connelly’s team fared better than expected, the report could have been more balanced based on the state rankings (3rd) and LSA (35th). The statement reveals that Connelly hasn’t competed in the state since 2016! Well, Elsa didn’t make it to the states. This is the longest streak in team history: the first losing streak (and tied) since the start of the season.
As I write this, I understand how upsetting all of this is as a soccer parent, but it’s worth noting the historic nature of such a great loss.

Vic Schaefer’s Texas teams are boring and painful to watch.
Re: “Schiever doesn’t see the bright side” April 2.
Following the recent conclusion of the UT women’s basketball season, I was inspired to write directly to Danny Davis about his recent tenure as editor and his outlook for the future. He and fellow state leaders Kirk Boles and Cedric Golden are downright biased against Utah athletics.
Davis’ story is a recent example today. Someone in the movie cast should call Vic Schaeffer’s crew: it’s boring and painful to watch. Half the time you can’t commit a crime. They are trying to intimidate the enemy on both sides. And they are always dirty. This strategy usually doesn’t work on good teams. Learning to intimidate your opponent begins when you face each other. All UT players injured. What kind of great player or high school transfer wants to play that situation every day?
